Construction teams selected to advance economic growth in fort worth
FORT WORTH, TEXAS — February 23, 2026 — The National Juneteenth Museum (NJM) partners with H.J. Russell & Company, Post L Group Construction and Source Building Group as Construction Managers at Risk (CMAR) for the development of its permanent home in Fort Worth’s Historic Southside. The appointment of these industry-leading firms represents a significant milestone in the museum’s development and strategic commitment to collaboration and community impact.
With a combined expertise of over 500 completed construction projects focusing on quality, community impact, education and workforce development, these firms will oversee pre-construction planning, cost management, scheduling and execution. This partnership will create construction and trade jobs, increase local contracting opportunities, and stimulate long-term tax revenue through an increase in tourism spending and business development.
“Watching Dr. Opal Lee’s vision come to life is a powerful testament that we can build anything through collective action,” said Jarred Howard, CEO of NJM. “This partnership will support continued momentum for the project.”
The National Juneteenth Museum will serve as a center for education, history and community engagement, commemorating the legacy of Juneteenth. The museum is also expected to create opportunities for local workforce participation and local business engagement throughout the construction process.
Construction is anticipated to begin this fall, with additional project updates to be announced as development progresses. For more information about NJM and its construction progress, please visit nationaljuneteenthmuseum.org.
