UT Southwestern Medical Center at Redbird

Delivering critical, much-needed healthcare access to the southern sector of Dallas County.

Red Bird Mall was once a vibrant cornerstone of the southern Dallas community, bustling with activity and serving as a regional destination. Over time, however, traffic declined as new retail options emerged in surrounding cities. The former SEARS building, once a major anchor of the mall’s success, experienced a similar downturn as market dynamics shifted.

Access to healthcare in southern Dallas has long been a critical need. After years of vacancy, a bold new vision emerged—one focused on revitalizing the site while delivering meaningful services back to the surrounding neighborhoods.

With new ownership, a visionary architectural team, and the dedication of skilled construction professionals, the space has been reimagined into a vibrant community healthcare destination for southern Dallas. Today, the UT Southwestern Medical Center at Redbird delivers essential services—including clinical offices, a pharmacy, and laboratory facilities—while serving as a vital resource for improving health, wellness, and access to care in the community.

Source Building Group, Inc. served as the Construction Manager at Risk Partner for this tenant finish-out. The scope of work for this project included clinic spaces, pharmacy and lab work area, endoscopy, infusion therapy and infusion healing garden, women’s diagnostic imaging, offices, administration area and vehicular drop off plaza with canopy.
