Paul Quinn College Trammell S. Crow Living & Learning Center
The goal was to create new places for young enterprising minds to prosper by reimaging and repurposing older structures.
Paul Quinn College’s vision to reshape its campus into a modern one with state-of-the-art facilities began with the design of this facility. With an abundance of funding raised through various resources, the design team utilized adaptive reuse as the direction to fulfill this need.
Source Building Group, Inc. served as Cost-Plus General Contractor for this renovation project for the college. The scope of work for this two-story structure included asbestos abatement, demolition, and renovating an existing 1950s classroom building into the 64-unit Trammell S. Crow Living and Learning Center which features dorm rooms, a laundry facility, student lounge, and residence for the Dorm RA. Additionally, work was completed to convert the existing vault into the director’s office space that included restoring the existing vault door and creating multiple collaborative spaces.
The new structure will also seek LEED Certification and is the first new building on campus in 40 years.
