Paul Lawrence Dunbar Young Men’s Leadership Academy
The exceptional young men who attend Fort Worth ISD Young Men’s Leadership Academy envisioned a new campus that better prepared them for college life after high school graduation.
With the existing structures on campus being inadequate to meet this goal, adminstrators, architects and other industry professionals collaborated to create a new vision for the gentlemen to grow and develop.
Source Building Group, Inc. served as the Construction Management at Risk Joint Venture Partner for the new vision of Fort Worth ISD Paul Lawrence Dunbar Young Men’s Leadership Academy School renovations and building additions. Reimagining the 1950s school into an up-to-date college-style campus was not an easy task. In order to achieve this goal, extensive renovations were needed to the existing structures with new buildings added with new structures and more importantly programs that greatly resembled their next level of education – college.
The scope of work included construction within the limits of the campus to build a new gymnasium that houses competition basketball courts, a band room and robotics and engineering spaces. Additional work included upgrading the existing MEP/FP systems and bringing all other systems to current industry standards. The end result is a new high school designed to help shape the next generation of young minds at the academy.
